URBAL LEARNING CENTRES
Sankalp currently provides free education to underprivileged children, who are extremely weak in studies. Ideally they could easily be categorized as children with learning disabilities. Many of them exhibit symptoms of Dyslexia, Dyacalculia and Dysgraphia. Sankalp has opened 3 Centres for such children in South Delhi covering 375 children. These children are provided support as per their learning needs by qualified teachers.
These are those children who don’t get the opportunity to be exposed to a stimulating educational environment at home. Nearly all the children enrolled in the Centres are much below their grade level. For example, many children in Grade -8 are performing at Grade- 3 or 4 level. Moreover parents are not educated enough to give these children support in learning. The parents are working and are not educated enough to provide after school support in learning to these children. Hence, the need of Urban Learning Centres. These are those children who get no support in teaching and learning at home. Sankalp currently runs different batches of 15-20 children each in each batch.
